GLPI consulting & implementation
Powerful IT service management. Without the enterprise-sized software bill.
GLPI brings IT support, service requests, assets and reporting together in one platform. With flexible cloud and self-hosted options, it gives organisations a practical way to improve IT service management while controlling ongoing software costs.
OPSARO helps Australian organisations evaluate, implement and integrate GLPI, with a focus on clean configuration, Microsoft 365 connectivity and long-term usability.
Who GLPI is for
Plenty of people and devices. A focused IT team.
GLPI is worth evaluating when a small technical team supports a larger organisation. Compare how many staff need the standard interface, what you need to inventory and which features your service desk needs.
Small and growing IT teams
Bring tickets, requests and assets into a shared system that can grow with your service desk.
Schools and education providers
Organise support and device inventory across staff, students and sites, with suitable access controls.
Not-for-profits
Evaluate recurring software costs alongside the practical needs of your staff and support team.
Internal service desks
Give colleagues a clear support channel and your technicians a consistent way to manage work.
Core capabilities
The foundations for practical service management.
Your GLPI version, subscription, plugins and configuration determine the features available. We confirm these during discovery.
Incident and request management
Manage support tickets, assign ownership and keep a useful record of the work and its resolution.
Service catalogue and approval workflows
Make common requests easier to find and route. GLPI 11 includes native forms and a service catalogue; approval design depends on the workflow.
Asset management and automatic inventory
Connect support to asset records. Use GLPI Agent and the appropriate inventory configuration for supported devices and discovery tasks.
Knowledge base and self-service portal
Give users a place to find guidance, request services and follow their tickets.
Microsoft 365, Entra SSO and SCIM integration
Configure OAuth email, Entra sign-in and user provisioning. OAuth SSO and SCIM require the relevant plugins, available in Network Basic or higher and Cloud; Microsoft prerequisites also apply.
Dashboards, reporting and SLA management
Track service performance and response targets. The Advanced Dashboard and approval-by-email plugins require Network Standard or higher, or an eligible Cloud offer.
Feature references: official plugin entitlements, OAuth SSO, SCIM and GLPI forms. Checked 25 October 2026.
Choose your deployment
Managed cloud or infrastructure you control.
Hosting decisions start with data location, operational ownership and the features you need.
Shared, managed infrastructure
GLPI Public Cloud
- Per-agent subscription, starting with one billed agent.
- Unlimited inventoried assets and end users.
- No customer-managed server.
- Consider where Australian residency is not mandatory. Confirm the offered region before purchase.
Dedicated, managed infrastructure
GLPI Private Cloud
- Vendor-managed dedicated infrastructure.
- Minimum 25 billed agents.
- Unlimited inventoried assets and end users.
- For teams needing dedicated resources and stronger infrastructure commitments.
Australian residency is conditional. Obtain written confirmation covering the instance, backups and relevant processing locations. The calculator models it as a planning assumption.
Your hosting, supported software
GLPI Network Self-Hosted
- Network Basic, Standard or Advanced, selected by capacity and feature requirements.
- Australian hosting is possible with a suitable provider and contract.
- Your organisation or existing MSP maintains the infrastructure.
- OPSARO provides scoped GLPI implementation, configuration and integration services.
A billed GLPI agent means a user with the standard interface, which may include staff beyond your ticket-handling technicians. Confirm profile requirements when sizing a subscription. OPSARO does not provide server hosting or ongoing infrastructure operation.
An indicative planning tool
See how your ITSM licensing costs scale.
Compare GLPI deployment options against an illustrative ITSM subscription model. Adjust your team size, asset count and hosting requirements to explore potential licensing cost differences.
Compare subscriptions, then validate the fit. The illustrative ITSM subscription is a hypothetical scenario, not a market average or another vendor’s quotation. These estimates do not establish equivalent functionality, guaranteed savings or total cost of ownership.
Your organisation
Count all users who need the GLPI standard interface.
Capacity estimate, up to 1,000,000 assets. Higher capacity needs a quotation.
An allowance you choose, not a hosting quotation. Enter only costs it covers.

Edit illustrative ITSM subscription assumptions
This is an editable hypothetical subscription, not a verified market average. Its initial assumptions are A$130 per agent per month, at least five billed agents, unlimited assets, Australian residency and vendor-managed infrastructure.
If you remove managed infrastructure, this tool cannot estimate the reference model’s extra infrastructure costs and withholds cost differences. It also withholds differences when the reference does not meet your selected residency or asset requirements.
Indicative subscription rates

| Deployment | EUR/month | Indicative AUD/month | Capacity and terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| GLPI Public Cloud | €19/agent | A$30.27/agent | From 1 billed agent; unlimited inventoried assets |
| GLPI Private Cloud | €21/agent | A$33.46/agent | Minimum 25 billed agents; unlimited inventoried assets |
| GLPI Network Basic | €100 | A$159.34 | Up to 10 agents AND 500 assets; 12-month commitment; infrastructure extra |
| GLPI Network Standard | €300 | A$478.02 | Up to 50 agents AND 5,000 assets; 12-month commitment; infrastructure extra |
| GLPI Network Advanced | €1000 | A$1,593.40 | Above Standard capacity; upper limits require confirmation; 12-month commitment; infrastructure extra |
Rates, sources and what this estimate includes
Verified subscription rates
Public Cloud €19/agent/month. Private Cloud €21/agent/month, minimum 25 billed agents. Network Basic €100, Standard €300 and Advanced €1,000 monthly equivalents; Network subscriptions require a 12-month commitment.
Checked : official GLPI pricing and GLPI Network subscriptions. Confirm your quote, billing terms and plugin entitlements before purchasing.
Currency and eligibility assumptions
€1 = A$1.5934. Planning reference supplied by OPSARO, set ; this is not a live exchange rate.
Private Cloud residency assumption: this comparison assumes an Australian instance and relevant backups/processing locations have been confirmed in writing. No such provider commitment is asserted here. Public Cloud is excluded from recommendations when Australian residency is required.
Network tier selection
Basic requires no more than 10 agents and 500 assets. Standard requires no more than 50 agents and 5,000 assets. Above either Standard limit, the model uses the indicative Advanced rate; its upper capacity must be confirmed with the provider.
The lowest capacity-eligible tier may not include every feature you need. Feature requirements can require a higher tier. The self-hosted chart includes the entered infrastructure allowance.
Costs outside this comparison
All amounts are indicative and exclude GST, implementation, migration, training, optional plugins or services, Microsoft licences, extra storage and foreign exchange/payment fees. Self-hosted costs exclude maintenance labour, backups, monitoring and infrastructure expenses not covered by your allowance.
Annual and three-year differences hold all inputs constant for 12 and 36 months, with no inflation, exchange-rate changes, price increases or discount assumptions. These are subscription scenarios, not total cost of ownership.

Common questions
Before you choose GLPI.
What does GLPI cost?
GLPI software is open source under the GNU GPL. Paid Cloud and Network subscriptions have separate hosting, support and plugin entitlements. Published indicative rates start at €19 per agent per month for Public Cloud; Private Cloud is €21 with a minimum of 25 billed agents. Network Basic, Standard and Advanced are €100, €300 and €1,000 monthly equivalents with a 12-month commitment. Currency conversion, tax, optional extras and implementation affect your budget. Use the calculator assumptions and obtain a current quotation.
Can GLPI integrate with Microsoft 365?
Yes. GLPI supports OAuth SMTP for notifications and the OAuth IMAP plugin for mail collection. Entra sign-in and SCIM provisioning use their respective plugins, documented for Network Basic or higher and Cloud. Tenant permissions, Microsoft licensing, mailbox access and GLPI version compatibility must be checked. Shared mailbox collection and sending permissions need validation for your particular setup.
Can GLPI be hosted in Australia?
A Network self-hosted deployment can use Australian infrastructure selected by you or your MSP. For any Cloud offer, confirm the contracted instance, backup and processing locations directly with the provider. The calculator assumes written Australian residency confirmation for Private Cloud solely for the comparison; it is not evidence that a particular offer meets your requirements.
What is the difference between Public Cloud, Private Cloud and Network?
Public Cloud uses shared managed infrastructure. Private Cloud uses dedicated managed infrastructure and a 25-agent billing minimum. Network is a paid subscription for software support and plugin entitlements on infrastructure maintained by you or your existing MSP. Capacity, feature and contract requirements determine the appropriate offer.
Does GLPI support automatic asset inventory?
Yes. GLPI Agent can collect inventory from supported devices; additional discovery and inventory tasks depend on installed components and configuration. Network access, deployment permissions and the supported operating system versions need to be assessed. Inventory support does not mean every device or application is automatically discovered.
Who maintains a self-hosted GLPI instance?
Your organisation or existing MSP is responsible for hosting, server maintenance, patching, backups and monitoring. OPSARO provides the GLPI configuration, integration, training and other consulting work agreed in your scope. Server hosting and ongoing infrastructure operation are not included.
